We’re constantly improving and expanding our women’s health care services throughout the Erie region. In 2022, CareChex® said, “Saint Vincent Hospital is rated the No. 1 hospital in Erie for Overall Hospital Care, Overall Surgical Care and Women’s Health”.* With a new OB-GYN practice that offers midwifery care, newly renovated clinics, and a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), our goal is to make you and your family as comfortable as possible as you receive specialized care.
AHN Women at Saint Vincent provides access to services including:
We have cutting-edge diagnostic services including automated whole breast ultrasound, which helps identify lumps in dense breast tissue. If something abnormal does appear, our breast cancer nurse navigators will walk you through your diagnosis and treatment. We also have a female, fellowship-trained breast surgeon who works alongside our plastic surgeon on breast reconstructions.
From removing wrinkles to tummy tucks, we offer a wide range of procedures and surgeries to enhance and reconstruct your appearance.
Our leading women’s health care specialists diagnose and treat gynecologic cancers (any cancer that starts in a woman’s reproductive organs) including cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar.
Our state-of-the-art labor and delivery unit includes new, private rooms for delivery and postpartum, jetted showers, and hydrotherapy tubs for relief during and after labor. With a level III NICU that recently received a multi-million dollar update, your little one will have the latest technology with isolettes and infant swings. Plus, you’ll be able to keep an eye on your new addition with 24/7 video streaming.
Your specially trained therapist at Women’s Rehabilitation Services will work with you to determine whether you have primary or secondary lymphedema and develop a treatment plan that best suits your condition and needs. Lymphedema is a swelling of a body part usually occurring in the extremities. It can also occur in the face, neck, abdomen, or genitals. Lymphedema is the result of the abnormal accumulation of protein-rich edema fluid in the affected area. Once you have been diagnosed with lymphedema, you need to be taught how to manage it. Therapy may include some, or all, of the aspects of complete decongestive therapy (CDT).
Mammograms are recommended for all women over the age of 40. This 20-minute screening is your first line of defense against breast cancer and could wind up saving your life.
The AHN Breast Imaging Center is an outpatient facility of Saint Vincent Hospital. It provides patients with the latest diagnostic and breast imaging technology and services. Patients can get access to automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) advanced imaging, giving people with dense breast tissue the ability to be diagnosed sooner, so that they can receive treatment faster. We also have fellowship-trained women’s imaging radiologists and physicians who have been trained to identify cancerous tissue in the breasts leading to better identification and treatment for patients. We also offer 3D breast tomosynthesis, improved comfort upright stereotactic biopsy, two breast health nurse navigators, and general ultrasound.
In addition, the new facility has been designed to improve patient flow so that patients can receive their readings faster than ever.
